sometimes i have the same problem finding a good lip gloss, but i like sephora %26amp; mac products. Mac may be sticky at first, but use a little soft lips or chap stick then apply a little of the mac gloss on top, that make it way less sticky and it lasts longer!
L'Oreal Glam Shine lipcolour. It's the one with the heart shaped applicator. Lasts soooo long and has a really shiny look to it.

Try the Estee Lauder counter at department stores like Belk. One of my friends used to be the manager of the makeup counter and she used to give me free samples of their stuff. I, like you, hated the way lip gloss was thick and sticky so I tried a sample she gave me and i loved it. Good Luck!
You really should try the Lip Tox Sheer by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics at beeroyalproducts.com. It has real diamond dust in it and really sparkles and shines without that sticky feeling. They also have a really nice pink color and some earth tones.

Well, I'm a down to earth girl and I still wear Smackers/Bonne Bell. Bonne Bell has some sweet tinted lipglosses [Liplites] and they aren't sticky at all. Only thing is, I like shine so I add a coat of clear lipgloss overtop.

To me the best thing to wear on your lips is vasiline aka pertroleum jelly. Its sheer and its NOT sticky at all and it naturally mosturizizes your lips which is a plus. It will blend with the natural color of your lips and make it seem noticable but not too much. Its perfect becasue i understand that it is very hard to find not sticky un-gooey gloss. try the vasiline brand of pertroleum jelly.
PS- dont put to much on eles u will taste it and it is not a very good taste lolsz : )

I have chosen the perfect Q to answer! I know a lot about lip glosses.. First of all, I wear tint too.. I wear Cover Girl's Smoothwear Lip tint.. That's the best! And it's not gooey or sticky.. But the thing about the gooey-ness is that you gotta control it, because after using makup quite a while, almost every lip gloss will be sticky or either gooey.. sometimes even both! So, esp. with those tube lip glosses, you can dab it with a napkin lightly afterwards or you can just squeeze just enough for your lips instead of overloading. I know this may sound shocking, but I use Smackers.. Not their chap stick or whatever but it's a lip gloss and it gives you the right amount of sparkle.. And it smells (and tastes..) great! They have many scents but I like the strawberry one so much better. They can be found in Wal-Mart for like 2 or 4 bucks.. They are really cheap. And plus, it doesn't have the stickyness or the gooeyness.. Works great for me. Lemme know how it goes.

Stir in as much of the drink mix as possible. The actual amount will depend on the temperature of water. The more you can dissolve, the stronger the flavour will be.
You can choose the color and flavor of you lip gloss by the type of drink mix you use.
Add one drop of the water mixture to the shortening/honey base. Stir well. Repeat until you get the color/flavor combination you want. Pour into a clean container or old lip gloss pot.
Store in the refrigerator. Keeps for 3 days, but it tastes so good that you will use it up very fast!
I have used vaseline with berry extraction. I picked the berries from my grandma's farm and juiced them into the vaseline. Shelf life ain't that great, but good for a couple days.
I recommend the beeswax recipe. It's shelf life is maybe 6 months.

yes you can do this and you should have no problems providing your substrate is prepped properly. personally, if it is raw wood i would apply 1 - 2 coats of an alkyd primer under coater then i would apply 1 - 2 coats of an alkyd semi gloss or eggshell. if you are painting trim it will come out like glass. if the paint starts to set up too fast you can add a product made by flood called penetrol it slows down the drying process and if your wood is raw it will help the primer to penetrate into the wood better. if you use a water based primer it will cause the wood fibres to raise and that means alot of sanding. if you want to speed up the drying process then get some japan driers. they are present in the alkyd paint from the factory but this will help it dry faster and gives it a tougher finish.IS IT OK TO USE OIL BASED GLOSS ON A WATER BASED UNDERCOAT?

yes it is fine ..internally ..but don't do it outside !as a builder i come across this al the time ...the paint can peel off completely leaving only bare wood ...i remember when acrylic primer first came out ..the decorators loved it ..it saved them time ...less than 20 years later ..all the windows and soffitts etc are being replaced !!
No.........you are backwards...........should be water base on oil primer, not oil on water.........you will have a bonding problem.......better to go water on water now. Sorry, I know that's just what you wanted to hear. Have a lovely Holiday........bye.

Lip gloss causes kidney disease?
okay, my friend said she heard lip gloss causes kidney disease. Is this even true? I need straight-forward and scientific answers! Sounds to me like a load of redbull :pLip gloss causes kidney disease?
Honestly.. I think this is probably just another myth.. I've heard tons of silly stuff before! First of all, kidney disease is internal which means that something has to get inside your digestive system or penetrate the outside to cause damage. If you swallow some lip gloss it wouldnt case anything to happen. Secondly, when they make lip gloss and cosmetics they have to go trough tests and pass with patents and the food and drug administration which makes sure they are safe. If they caused any problems, they wouldnt be on the market. Companies spend lots of time going through stuff like that. So, no...nothing to worry about! Honestly. I hope this makes you feel better!! take care! :)

recently i bought some lip gloss but when i tried to apply it i noticed nothing came out of it ........its in the from of a transparent bottle with a spherical covering above it which is supposed to be glossy but in my case its not what could be the reasonLip gloss does not come out of the bottle.........what to do/?

I would try warming it up like the people before me answered.
But if that doesn't work maybe you can take the whole roller unit off and scrape the gloss into a jar. like a 10 gram kind that mineral makeup comes in. The video below demonstrates how you can do this.

鈥il-based candy flavoring (if you want a special flavor)

鈥iploc bag
鈥mall container (recycle old makeup containers or 35mm film containers, or look in stores that carry beads, crafts, or fishing tackle)
Instructions:
Grate some paraffin wax onto wax paper. Measure 1/4 teaspoon grated wax into the plastic bag. Add 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon petroleum jelly, and 1 candy melt. Add 1/8 teaspoon oil-based candy flavoring if you like.
Seal the bag and carefully put it in a bowl of hot tap water to melt ingredients, about 3-5 minutes. (Use tap water! Never use a microwave or stove to heat the water).
Once all the ingredients are melted, remove the bag from the water. Squish ingredients around in bag to mix; work quickly! Clip off a tiny corner of the bag and squeeze gloss into the clean container. Let it set for an hour, or put it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
There you go! Use a cotton swab instead of your finger to apply gloss. Your lip-gloss should last a long time. If it changes color, odor, or texture, though, throw it away.
I love making Lip-Gloss =) These are my favourites....
Chocolate Lip Gloss
*3 tablespoons cocoa butter
*4 or 5 chocolate chips
*1 capsule Vitamin E
*Optional - 10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil.
Melt all ingredients in a double boiler %26amp; then blend with a spoon until the mixture is very smooth. Put into a container %26amp; refrigerate until solid.
Cranberry Lip Gloss
*1 tablespoon almond oil
*10 fresh cranberries (you can use cherries or strawberries too)
*1 teaspoon honey
*1 teaspoon petroleum jelly (optional - for more shine)
Mix all the ingredients %26amp; then place them in a microwave or heat-resistant container. Heat in the microwave or a water bath until the mixture just begins to boil (1-2 minutes in the microwave). Stir well %26amp; gently mash the berries. Let the mixture stand for at least 5 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove all pieces of cranberry. Stir %26amp; allow to cool completely. When cool, spoon into a clean container.
Vanilla Lip Gloss

You can try using vaseline, but the problem is that it won't stick to your lips, it melts then runs into the corners of your mouth (cus petroleum isn't polar.) But if vaseline is all you have, I like mixing it with a bit of olive oil (jojoba oil would be good too) to make it a bit thinner. Mix a bit of loose or pressed eyeshadow or blush. It seems that pressed powders can change colors once they are mixed with something (maybe its the preservatives or maybe the pressing medium that changes the color). so you just have to experiment.
Other ingredients you can use are jojoba gel (aromaleigh.com), cocoa butter, shea butter, chapstick in a tube (just be sure to mix oil with it to thin it out!), aquaphor, and my personal favorite ingredient, VITAMIN E OIL!!!! You can flavor it too if you want. I only tend to put a drop of peppermint oil in mine. Other flavors just don't seem to be as appealing.

Rimmel Infinite colour two ended lip gloss?
Does anybody else get really angry when they find a product they love and then out of the blue the makers-usually rimmel-decide to stop selling it?
I found Rimmel's Infinite Lip Colour brilliant, one end colour the other a transparent gloss/fixer. Suddenly it has disappeared from all the main retailers-Tesco, Boots, Superdrug_I have tried several tiny independent chemists but no joy. I have a really good tip! Just boil some water and once it has boiled, pour it into a mug, don't let it cool down, and place your lipgloss inside the mug, wait for about 5 minutes or 10 and you'll find that all the lipgloss has accumulated at the bottom. Just try it!

Other than that I'm not really sure what else you can do besides buying a new bottle.

Putting water in lip gloss won't stretch it at all. Lip gloss is designed to resist water (like from your mouth) so it would water would just sit there on top of it. You could try applying chapstick before you apply the lip gloss because you won't have to saturate your lips with your lip gloss that's already running low. Good luck!

I love the Vive nutrigloss. I used it on my daughter's hair who has corkscrews and curls. I also have used in on mine which is relaxed and straight. I liked the silky feel on both of our hair. My daughter's detangled and my laid flat.... Hallelujah! I didn't really think or notice a benefit with the restoratives. Still just as much hair loss, if not more, and no improved condition. I used their relaxed restoratives and the regular one as well. Their relaxed and natural hair mositurizer is great though. No gresy feel just softness and condtioning. My sister was over and gave me her Pantene. After a week my hair stopped breaking off in my hands. It took a month for it to be soft again, but now it's in great shape...a few inches shorter...but in great shape again.

If you are using oil based paint as your finish, use an oil-based primer, or use latex with latex. Then apply 2 or more coats of semi gloss or gloss enamel, and you are done. It is a softer, flexible paint that acts as a cushion against knocks to prevent new rigid gloss chipping off the old rigid gloss and also acts like a rubber mat between the old and new gloss coats otherwise they slip on each other and peel next time you come to rub them down.
If the door is new then you need to knot and prime first. Two coats of primer, the first thinned out so it soaks in would be ideal. On a new door two undercoats will not hurt although only one is absolutely necessary. One gloss, although you can apply a second gloss onto the first IF you do it within 36 ish hours of the first. You do not rub down between the first and second new gloss coat, altohugh the gloss is dry the paint is still hardening and therefore has suction - this will pull your second coat of gloss onto it.
A previously painted door only needs any spots of bare wood priming (after rubbing down). One undercoat and one gloss (second if you like, but not essential.
On the interior side of a door then a second undercoat never hurts, but a second gloss would be pointless.
On the interior you are mostly protecting against people and things banging into them, hence extra undercoat helps. On exteriors you are prtecting against the elements so an extra gloss may help. (When you apply a coat of gloss there may be weak areas in terms of thickness, a second coat should eliminate that (but is far from essential)

If the door you wish to paint is brand new (bare wood) then you will need to paint it with a wood primer.
From there, you should give the area to be painted a very light sand down, the grade of the paper should be about 120. The lower number, the harder the sandpaper The bigger the number, the less sanding it does.
After you have sanded it, you should dust it down, now heres the important bit - To get a good finish look for your door, you will need an undecoat - Now you have to think; What colour door do you want?
If you want a white door, then simply buy oil-based white undercoat, if you want a black door, yet again simply use black undercoat BUT if you want a red door, blue door etc then you should get an undercoat specialised for that particular colour. Brewers are professionals, and will be able to pick the correc tone for you along with your final colour (If you have a brewers)
After the undercoat is dry, it is time to apply the final and last coat (if the undercoat was applied well), an oil-based gloss.

How to make glossed door frames look better?
We have recently decorated our entire home but the door frames let it down. They have been painted again and again with gloss and look real untidy. I have tried to sand them down to repaint them but sanding does not seem to work on gloss. Any help?How to make glossed door frames look better?
Are you using an electric sander? Even then, I don't think you are going to take a lot of paint off 鈥? just rough up the surface. You could take Goof Off and a roll of paper towels and wipe the paint off. It would definitely come off, but it would take some work. I'm not sure that's what a professional would do!! (But, I would if it was only one or two doorframes because I know Goof Off cuts through paint instantly. Or, Goo Gone - same stuff.)

How do i restain pine furniture that already has stain and gloss on it(i think)?
Use a furniture stripper on it...I like Circa 1850 Furniture Stripper...it is safe for antiques and works really well without a lot of yucky smell. You will probably need a light sanding...If you want to stain your piece darker, then just add your darker stain to it...if you want to go lighter, then you will have to sand all the colour out (down to the natural wood)...stain the colour you want, and then finish with the product of your choice....is all easy to do, just a bit time consuming, but very enjoyable to see it completed.

How do I removed dried emulsion paint from glossed paint work ?
I was a little clumsy painting round a door with emulsion paint, and I have blue paint marks on the white gloss painted frame.
It was only afterwards that I noticed and it dried. That was a day or two ago - can someone suggest something to clean the paint off without damaging the paint work ?

How can I deepen the colour of bricks and make them highly glossed?
I have red 1970's style bricks in a fireplace, most of which will be knocked out to install a contemporary Jetmaster gaslog fire. The ones on the hearth need to remain, but I wanted to make them a bit of a feature and make them richer in colour and glossed. How do I do this, what product could I use? The floor will be wooden floorboards around these bricks. Any suggestions greatfully received.How can I deepen the colour of bricks and make them highly glossed?

I have used an acid, ameratic (can't remember the name but something like that) you buy it at Home Depot. Very potent but it cleans brick and excess grout off tiles, works great but wear gloves, and a good mask, and have lots of ventilation. After you do this, seal the brick with a sealer which you can also purchase at Home Depot it is for natural stone and brick. It makes them look very rich in colour. I put several coats on, as they will soak up the sealer very quickly. You will find that they will be much easier to clean as well. Sorry I can't remember the exact names but Home Depot does carry this item, I bought it there. Good Luck.

wood stain works well, or you could make a colour wash out of faux finish glaze and enamel paint, it is a kind of stain (don't use alot of paint, so it stains the brick, instead of coating it with paint and hiding the characteristics of the brick). putting a gloss finish on brick is tricky...after you stain it or colour wash it, you could use a good spar varnish...not polyurethane, but a spar varnish, with the sheen of your choice.
Assuming you mean the exterior bricks surrounding the fireplace. You could paint them. If not paint maybe you could experiment with stain. Gloss can always be achieved with polyurethane.

well. it isnt unhealthy. but that is pretty odd..... honestly i dont like the look of glistening lips. i like dewy sheer lips but not over the top glaze. slowly transision. at wal mart, they have bonn bell (or something) little tubes for 99 cents. they are pretty good, actually. tell yourself you are only going to use one tube today. slowly, put it on every ten minuites. the next day, put it on every 15 mins. the next day, every 20 mins. distract yourself. dont sit and think about lip gloss. try carmex or blistex instead! try lip balm!

Yes! I confess I'm addicted to lip balm. I am aways equipped with a tube, and become extremely uncomfortable on occasions when I discover I have no way to smooth and moisten my lips. I guess that crosses the line of addiction.
I don't know the exact biology behind this sort of thing, but I think it's similar to what happens when you wash your hair too often.
When you wash your hair too often you strip the oils off the hair and the scalp, this causes damage b/c the natural oils (the ones your body makes all on its own like it's supposed to) aren't there to protect your hair.
When you use moisturizers like hand lotion and lip balm, you are moisturizing the cells of your skin and lips, and therefor telling the cells that they don't need to create the natural oils that they would normally create to moisturize. The more you use it the more often the cells are confused. Eventually the cells become dependent on your moisturizers to supply the moisture. this is similar to an addiction b/c you feel the need to add moisture, b/c your lips ARE ACTUALLY dryer than they're supposed to be.
Some places have drier air than other places and in these terrains you must go through adaptation phases where your cells learn to produce more or less depending on the state your skin is in. I personally never use moisturizer except a the beginning of winter and the beginning of summer. Then I phase my use out so that my skin can adapt. I've never had any problems with dry skin or lips.

There are a lot of brands out there, bu you don't want a cinderella lip gloss kit, right?
Well, I highly recommend Bath And Body's Work assortment of lip glosses. I really like the C.O. Bigelow lip gloss. It leaves a nice tingle on the lips after you use it. It is also very long lasting, and gives a nice sheen on your lips for a couple hours. There are many brands that bath and Body Works has! Please, check them out! They're all delicious! (They really do taste good)

Okay so I'm in high school also and I looove lip gloss. Good ones are the Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush, Bath %26amp; Body Works Liplicious(which is similar to the VS ones), Revlon Super Lustrous lip glosses(they also have SPF), the L'Oreal HiP jelly balm(kinda like a lip balm but with lots of shine and smells really good), MAC lipglasses and lustreglasses are good also but a little more pricey. The lustreglass that's my favorite is Love Nectar. Such a pretty color!

More affordable options would be the C.O. Bigelow glosses you can get at Bath and Body works. They're a lot cheaper and still great quality and they refresh your breath.
I also like Avon plump pout lipglosses and mary kay's nourishine ones. Also check out Nyx. There mega shine lipgloss is great.

it shows ur natural lip colour and it works well for keeping your lips healthy.
but if u want colour on your lips go for brands like revlon. they may be expensive but they are good quality for you lips.

I do not wear lipglos, but something that works just as good is Aquafina Hydrating LIp Oil. It works just as good as lip gloss and Carmex.

Well, I highly recommend Bath And Body's Work assortment of lip glosses. I really like the C.O. Bigelow lip gloss. It leaves a nice tingle on the lips after you use it. It is also very long lasting, and gives a nice sheen on your lips for a couple hours. There are many brands that bath and Body Works has! Please, check them out! They're all delicious! (They really do taste good)
