hi i was wondering if i ccan mix oil based enamel for floors and an acrylic semi gloss for walls.to make the enamel floor paint a little lighter?Can i mix semi-gloss paint with gloss paint?
no,,, you will end up with an unholy mess for sure,,, rather like mixing oil and water ya know as the two may occupy the same space but will never blend together to form a new unified fluidCan i mix semi-gloss paint with gloss paint?
No. you will wind up with a messy looking paint job that is part shiny and part semi shiny.
Plus they are two different types of paint.
It just will not work, you would be better off just buying a quart of whatever you need to match the enamel floor paint
Both MUST be acrylic (latex) or oil based. Mixing two that are not, neither will adhere to the surface being painted.
