Is expensive lip gloss really better or is it packaging?

cuz ive heard different things but is a tube of lipgloss from mac or chanel thats like 14$-25$ really better quality then a covergirl lipgloss or something from sally beauty supply that's

I think it's worth paying the price for MAC, it looks prettier and stays on better. Many of the cheap ones don't cover consistently and then you have thicker areas and thinner areas. Stick with MAC.Is expensive lip gloss really better or is it packaging?
You are really paying for the name. I have a MAC lipgloss that I love, but I have one that I believe is better and I found it at CVS for about $3 or $4.
it's packaging. trust me i studied business finance.
that's not entirely true. sometimes the cheap things can be better than the expensive ones. but it's difficult to say. you just have to try.
Cheaper stuff is the same stuff!
It's the pretty packaging, the hype and the ads that lure people into buying those expensive lip glosses. Compare the ingredients from a $25 tube and a $3 Wet N Wild tube and see for yourself, of course there might be some different ingredients but it's usually the first few ingredients that are the most important, and those seem to always be the same no matter what brand it is.





Remember, it's the market of advertising. They want you to think that running to the mall and spending $20+ on a tube of lip gloss with {inser overrated brand here} will make you feel glamorous and more important when all it does is make you a sucker for giving in. :)
its not better, and with some brands I think its actually worse because they spend so much time on the color and shine that the gloss seriously dries out your lips. its only more expensive because its brand name. the best gloss is the cooling gloss that they have at bath %26amp; body works, they have it in chocolate, cinnomin, peppermint, and spearmint last time I checked. It feels really cool, lasts a super long time, actually moisturizes the lips, and it only costs like $7.

its the name, and the packaging. Its just the same as cheaper stuff.
MAC Lip Glass is around 20 dollars and it was too sticky and tastes gross! I personally liked covergirl lip gloss much better!

Dont spend so much money on lip glosses!! Go to www.eyeslipsface.com! E.L.F has some great lipglosses for cheap ($1). You can even get them at Kroger or any other store that carries them. Check out the web site to see what locations have them! I use them, and they work great!! They even have sun protection, which makes it even better! Oh! And they have a sweet taste and smell!! MMM!
hi i can answer this because i just recentlyu got burned buying a $20 clinique lip gloss that was absolutely no different than a cheap one...Apparently a lip gloss is a lip gloss...with the same wax and glycerine compounds in each one. One lipstick / gloss that i really did like...it is a stay on lipstick at one end and u apply it and let it set for two minutes and then apply a high gloss that is at the other end...was ';maybelline superstay gloss'; if u dont want a noticeable lipstick colour it does come in many nude or neutral coulours so the tint isnt really noticeable and u get the benefit of a really high gloss
The packaging is fine for all of them, but I like the performance of the middle ground one - MAC. The color selection is wonderful, and I find so many that suit me.





My Loreal lip glosses, about $8, and the packaging is fine, but the applicator doesn't apply well. And it gets gooey in the cap, messy.
